Kenya man to hang for rape, murder of 5-yr-old

A 42-year-old Kenya man, John Mwanzo, has been sentenced to death by hanging for raping and murdering a five-year-old girl on December 30, 2012, at his home in Kizingo, Mombasa county, reports The Star.

The report say that Mwanzo was found guilty of the crime byJudge Martin Muya who sent to the hangman for the gory crime, saying that Mwanzo does not deserve mercy.

Mwanzo pleaded with the court to grant him a non-custodial sentence, saying he has four children who solely depend on him, telling the court that he is really remorseful but Judge Munya told him:

“The crime you committed deserves a death penalty.”
