Wedding interrupted after groom's wife shows up during ceremony

A couple who were about to be joined in marriage were unable to do so after the groom's wife showed up at the ceremony.

42-yr-old Ndodana Chifamba and his bride simply identified as Phindile both from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe were about to exchange vows when the pastor announced to the congregation if anyone objected to their marriage.

Almost immediately the pastor finished, a woman jumped to her feet and claimed she was the groom's legal wife.

46-yr-old Josephine Mhlanga told the pastor and the church that she had two children with Chifamba whom she has been married to for 20 years.

She claimed she had found out about his wedding on that day.
Te surprised pastor then stopped the wedding and told the groom and his bride that they could not sign the marriage certificate, Daily Mail reports.

The couple then turned their wedding party into an ordinary get together, according to the Bulawayo Chronicle.

The groom's wife said she first knew her husband of 20 years was living a double life when his relatives informed her of his planned wedding out of guilt.

“His relatives tipped me about the wedding' just hours before it
They said he had emphasised to them that I shouldn't know about it,” she told the Bulawayo Chronicle.

Chifamba reportedly would go away for days to see his lover and blame it on is job whenever he was confronted by Mhlanga.

"Whenever he visited, he would apologise for spending a lot of time without coming home," Mhlanga said, adding that her husband would reassure her that he loved her and wanted to stay with her.

The groom had even slept next to his wife on his wedding eve before turning up the next day to marry his new bride.
