Turn By Turn - Fake gynecologist who defrauded 3 of N23m, reportedly duped of N48m

Following news reports of the exposure and arrest of a fake doctor posing as a gynecologist in Ibadan, who also duped three people of N23.35m, it has been revealed that she has been defrauded of N48m.

In what can only be described as karma, it has been revealed that the fake gynecologist identified as Damilola Ojo, who had reportedly defrauded many of her patients, had also been swindled of N48.5m by her herbalist.


The State commissioner of police, Leye Oyebade, made the revelation while giving a statement on the issue, adding that Mrs Ojo's herbalist, identified as Ajinikirun, had duped her after she had paid him the alleged sum to help make her hospital flourish.

Speaking during the statement, the commissioner of police said:

“The suspect is popularly known in her church and in the neighborhood as Dr. Dammy Ojo. After collecting about N250, 000 and administering injections on Dollar and her husband for about 12 times without any fruitful result, the fake doctor introduced her to an oil and gas business. She also duped Dollar of N1, 350, 000.

“However, luck ran out on her when another member of her syndicate, a herbalist, Asifu Ajinikirun, who also allegedly defrauded her to the tune of N48.5 million, was arrested.

“Damilola, who claimed she just got pregnant for her husband, said her herbalist, Ajinikirun, who was preparing charms for her to make her hospital flourish, also swindled her of N48.5 million.”

Mrs Ojo who had been working at the University Teaching hospital, Ibadan, Oyo state, confessed to the crimes, adding that she was a dropout from Baptist Medical School, Saki.

Oyebade said Ojo would be charged to court after the police conclude investigations into the case.
