Mother arrested for selling her baby for N300k in Bayelsa


The police in Bayelsa State has arrested a woman after she allegedly sold her three-months-old baby for a paltry N300,000, South-South News reports.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Asinim Butswat,  said the woman who was identified as Oyikepreye Enoch, who is 28 years old, reportedly sold the baby girl to one Esther Tony, a 30-year-old married woman who has been looking for the fruit of the womb for years.

Butswat said:


“Detectives from Akenfa Police Station, Yenagoa, have arrested one Oyikepreye Enoch, female, 28 years, for allegedly selling her three months old baby girl to one Esther Tony, female, 30.

The suspect sold the baby, who is her child, for N300,000. Enoch and Tony are undergoing interrogation at the Akenfa Police Station, Yenagoa.

They will be charged to court at the end of investigations.”
