The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seems to be in a fix as to how to invite the ex-CBN Governor and Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, reports say.
Bearing in mind that the title of the Emir of Kano is an influential position, reports say the EFCC needs to invite the influential monarch to shed more light on the $2.1b arms purchase scandal.
You will recall that the $2.1b arms purchase scam was exposed by the committee set up by President Buhari to probe the purchase of arms since 2007.
Vanguard Newspapers reports that officials of the anti-graft agency are contemplating whether to invite him to their office, or visit him in his palace quietly for questioning.
Vanguard also reports that a source in the EFCC said they are being careful, so as not to get into trouble with any individual or group.
However, Vanguard also reports that an agent of the commission is already in Kano to look for possible ways of getting the Emir to grant EFCC audience.
Since the arms purchase scandal as blown open, 'highly placed’ Nigerians have been arrested by the EFCC.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor during President Jonathan’s tenure, before he was allegedly removed for announcing that the National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) did not remit about $20 billion to the national coffers.
