Man sentenced to death for beheading 9-yr-old boy

A middle-aged man, Ahmed Abdullahi, has been sentenced to death by hanging by an Ilorin High Court sitting in Kwara State, after he was found guilty by the State Chief Judge, Justice Suleiman Kawu, of beheading a 9-year-old boy identified as Hamidu Sanda, in a bush at Amberi Village, Iso Wara, near Ajase-Po in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara, on April 1, 2009.


Abdullahi had been arrested for the murder of the boy for ritual purposes and though he pleaded not guilty in court, Kawu said that the prosecution had proven its case beyond any doubt that he was the one who had murdered the boy.
