Akurunwa had alleged that his landlord, Tajudeen Balogun, planted charms at his apartment with the aim of ejecting him, something Balogun saw as an affront.
Akurunwa also reportedly to the Itire Police Division where he reported that Balogun sneaked into his three bedroom apartment and planted charms that had caused untold hardship on his family, lamenting that since the charms were planted in his apartment by Balogun, his family had not known peace.
But when the police invited his landlord for questioning, the texture of the case changed and Akuruwa became the accused as he was unable to prove his case by presenting witness and evidence.
Balogun successfully turned round to institute a case of false claim and information against him, which led to his being arraigned at the court.
When the charges were read to him, Akuruwa pleaded not guilty and the presiding Magistrate, Mrs A. O. Adedayo, ordered that he be remanded in prison custody pending when he would perfect his bail conditions while adjourning the case till 3 February, 2016.
