You take a look at most Nigerian roads and you’re exhausted before you even get behind the wheels. Having to chase money up and down adds to the ‘wahala’. The truth is that driving tired causes a lot of accidents on our roads. So here’s five ways to know that you shouldn’t be behind the wheel:
1. Constant yawns
If you find that you’re really drowsy and yawning while behind the wheel, then you probably should take a break. The body needs between seven-nine hours of sleep each night and not enough sleep can affect a lot of things.

2. Nasty traffic
Usually with the horrible traffic jams on Nigerian roads, we tend to drive for too long and that automatically makes you tired. I recommend taking a break or if you’re going on a long journey, take someone with you who can split the drive with you.
3. Loud driving
If you feel or realize that you are hurling insults at all other drivers on the road for the littlest thing while driving, you may want to take a break because what that may mean is that you’re highly irritable from being sleep deprived or maybe you just have a bad attitude.

4. You get lost
If you’re driving to a destination and you miss your turning one too many times or you can’t tell where you are or what the number of the building is or just where you are going in general, then maybe you’re fatigued. So, get some sleep or take a cab.

5. Lack of Concentration
Not paying attention is one of the biggest issues plaguing Nigerian roads today and causing multiple accidents. If you find that your mind is wondering or you can’t seem to pay attention to the road while you’re driving, you need to do something about your sleep pattern.
If you know anyone who may be in this position, kindly pass this message to them for a better and safer Nigerian roads.
