The four persons are reported to have died in the accident which had occurred yesterday, March 29, 2016 at Uncle Joe on the Mokola-Sango Road in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The reports further reveal that there had been a lone female survivor, of the initial five occupants comprised of three men and two women, in the two cars which had been involved in the accident.
The Nation reports that three cars had been speeding from Dugbe to Sango when a blue Toyota Corona, marked Lagos EKD 470BJ, reportedly lost control while trying to overtake the two other cars at 5.15am.
The cars are reported to have collided with the concrete demarcation in the middle of the road with four of the victims -a woman and three men- dying on the spot.
An unidentified source reveals that some bottles of alcoholic wine had been recovered from the car adding that it had taken the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officials, policemen and other sympathisers about an hour before the bodies had been removed from the totaled cars.
The State FRSC spokesperson, Oluwaseun Onijala, confirmed the accident, adding that three male adults had died, while revealing that preliminary investigations have shown that the collision had been as a result of speed limit violation and the drivers, driving under the influence.
The identities of the victims are yet to be revealed.
