Headmaster arrested for touching primary pupil's breasts

Head teacher arrested for groping a primary school pupil's breasts under her uniform and calling her 'prettiest girl' in school.

Christopher Field was convicted of two offences against two young girls, which he committed while he was headmaster at a primary school and another of having illegal images of children on his home computer.


The allegations came to light some years later when one of Field's victims, by now a teenager, broke down in front of her parents, reports Get Reading.

The young girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told police officers that going to secondary school and learning more about $ex had made her realise what had happened was wrong.

During the police investigation, officers discovered a previous allegation made against Field, when another schoolgirl claimed he had rubbed her thighs in the dining hall.

Field, of Newbury, was first arrested on suspicion of the $ex offences in September 2014 and was charged in May 2015.

The teacher of 18 years previously worked at Goring Church of England Primary School near Reading, and left Woodcote Primary School in 2013 to take up the role of headteacher at Kennet Valley Primary School in Calcot.

He will have to return to court on March 18, when prosecutors will announce whether to have Field re-tried or if the outstanding charges will lie on file.

He has been granted bail, with Judge Zoe Smith adjusting one of the conditions to ban him from having any contact with children under the age of 16.
