Pastor slumps, dies, hours to officiating at a burial


The members and leadership of St. John’s Anglican Church, Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has been thrown into confusion as one of their Vicars, Venerable Stephen Eseteru Ogue, slumped and died few hours to ministering at the burial of a congregant.


It was gathered that Ogue who was 53 years of age, was preparing to lead a team of other ministers to officiate at the burial when he collapsed and was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

Venerable Ogue who said to be suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes, was said to have suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the Lily Hospital, Deco Road, Warri, where he died.

He was said to be a highly travelled man of God and a prolific author who had written many books including ‘Escathology: The rapture of the Saints’, ‘Foundation for marital bliss’ and ‘The potential power of the Holy Spirit.’
