Church goers returning from Sunday service are reported to have spotted a baby stuck in a drainage after thinking it had been a kitten.
The scene of the incident is reported to have been located in Bandar Baru Bangi, located in the state of Selangor in Malaysia's West Coast peninsular.
The passer-by's are reported to have been returning from church service when they heard a sound.
Thinking it was a kitten stuck in the drainage, a man had stopped to help, only to discover it was a baby, before raising alarm.
The drainage had been opened, only to find that the cries that had heard, had been coming from a tied plastic bag in the corner of the drainage, which upon opening, had revealed a baby boy.
The newborn baby boy had been found covered in his own poo, wrapped in only a grey shirt.
Spokesman for the local police, Willey Richard, had revealed that the man who had made the disheartening discovery had opened the drainage to find the tied plastic bag moving.
The baby reportedly still had its umbilical cord attached upon discovery, before the local police patrol team had arrived at the scene to take the baby to nearby Kajang Hospital.
The police have now revealed that the baby boy is healthy and doing well, while pleading with the public to help in identifying the parents of the child.
