Benue's ex-Dep. Gov. dumps PDP for APC

Immediate past deputy governor of Benue state, Steven Lawani has joined other politicians in the state to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressive Congress.
Lawani, who was the deputy to ex-Gov Gabriel Suswam, defected alongside two former ministers, Prof. Jerry Agada and Sam Ode, a former federal permanent secretary, Mike Onoja and Senator Godwin Okpe.

The defectors were joined by thousands of their faithfuls in PDP in Benue-South Senatorial District to defect from the PDP to the APC.
According to reports, Lawani, Agada, Ode, Onoja, Okpe and thousands of their faithfuls were received by the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on Saturday, January 23, 2015, in Oturkpo Local Government Area of the state.
In his speech, Odigie-Oyegun called on Benue people to support the APC-led administration of President Buhari and Governor Samuel Ortom.
This is coming barely three weeks to the February 20, 2016 rescheduled rerun election between Senator David Mark of the PDP and Daniel Onjeh of APC by Independent National Electoral Commission.
