MASSOB - Uwazuruike rebrands group, talks on disagreement with Kanu

The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) who was reportedly expelled- Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has given the group a new name.

According to reports from Daily Post, Uwazuruike said MASSOB will now bear Biafra Independent Movement (BIM).
He also regretted the inclusion of violence to their “struggle,” adding that it was never in his plan to achieve things violently.
Uwazuruike said “The change in name became absolutely necessary because of the sad introduction of violence by the disgruntled dissidents and this is at variance with the non-violence stance of MASSOB over the years.”
Speaking about Nnamdi Kanu, he said “I recruited Nnamdi Kanu in 1989, when I established Radio Biafra and appointed him the director of the establishment. He started preaching hatred and brainwashing the youths. MASSOB sacked him.”
The leader of the re-branded group, Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) was accused of N4b fraud by some MASSOB members.
There has been massive protests in most South-Eastern states, by youths calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu the director ofRadio Biafra and Independent People of Biafra (IPOB)leader.
Nnamdi Kanu was reportedly arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in his hotel room, at the Golden Tulip Essential Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos state.
