Payband 7 Programme Manager Schools
& English for Education Systems
The Programme Manager Schools and
EES, is a new post. The post holder will be expected to integrate and head a
team consisting of four individuals previously working in separate teams
(Schools and EES) based across 2 locations (Lagos and Abuja). The post
holder will manage the integration of expertise, products and approach and lead
on stakeholder engagement management and business development
Applicants are expected to have the
following experience. These are essential.
-Working knowledge of Nigerian
Education systems and donor environment.
-Experience of working with donor/grant/ client funds
-Knowledge and understanding of sector stakeholders at state and federal levels

A Bachelor’s degree is the minimum
qualification. However, Post-graduate degree in Education, Humanities or Social
Sciences is desirable.
Programme Manager Skills
The post holder will act as the
Senior Responsibility Officer for Programme delivery in the Port Harcourt
office with associated representational, leadership and management
responsibilities and accountabilities. The post holder will work with the
Director Programmes, Director Education and Skills, and wider Education and
Skills team to lead on the development and implementation of a new Skills
portfolio in Nigeria including management of the grant funded two year Fast
Forward (FF) action research pilot project starting in 2015.
Applicants should have working
knowledge of Nigerian Education and Skills systems. This should include private
and public funded interventions.
A Bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement.
However, post-graduate degree in Education, Humanities or Social Sciences is
desirable.
PROJECT MANAGER ARTS UK/NG 2015
The post holder is expected to work
with the Director Arts Nigeria; Arts team Nigeria and the wider BC team to
deliver programmes, audiences and partnerships which contribute to the British
Council’s Arts programme, starting with the UKNG 2015 2016 programme.
The post holder is expected to have
• At least three years’ recent professional experience of working in a creative, producing, programming or management capacity in the Arts sector in Nigeria, ideally with international links.
• Proven ability to identify, develop, and manage relationships with major partners and stakeholders
• Experience planning and delivery of events to specific groups of people.
• Experience of working on projects between UK and Africa is desirable.

Project Manager Skills
The post holder is expected to work
with the Director Education and Skills, Programme Manager, Skills and the wider
Education and Skills team to manage the delivery of the Fast Forward (FF)
action research pilot project starting in 2015. He/She will support the
programme manager on the implementation and delivery of a new Skills portfolio
in Nigeria.
Applicants are expected to have
working knowledge of Nigerian Education and Skills systems. This should include
private and public funded interventions and Employability fields.

requirement.
SENIOR PROGRAMME MANAGER ARTS UK/NG
2015/16
The post holder is responsible for
leading Programme Management of the high profile UK NG 15/16 Arts Season in
Nigeria including the implementation, direction and co-ordination of up to 80
arts projects that will be delivered through partners in Nigeria and the UK,
and 4 large scale, flagship events that will be held in Abuja, Calabar and
Lagos.
Applicants are expected to have the
following experience. These are essential
-At least 5 years’ recent experience
of programme leadership in UK or Nigeria
– At least 5 years’ experience of managing successful project or programme delivery teams
– Proven ability to manage relationships with partners, contractors and vendors
-Track record of managing risk Proven experience of working with senior leadership, external using strong interpersonal skills.
-Proven ability of managing a team, acting as a coach and a mentor.
– At least 5 years’ experience of managing successful project or programme delivery teams
